It's hard to believe anything survived, but usually it grows back better
I forgot I posted this video. 
That huge Alligator Juniper in the forest (not shown) did make it. It was next to a meadow that didn't burn. Everything burned 50ft behind the huge Alligator Juniper though. A mountain lion used to make his home in the Juniper. The tree still has his marks.
